I have been a fan of yours since the beginning. I remember all of those relaxing evenings sitting by the fireplace at the chapbook cafe, enjoying your improvs, side comments about the originals you covered and the way the music would draw in the crowds back then. Good memories. And I love your CDs and listen to them often. Thank you!

There is a melancholic beauty in the melodies of Frederick Isaac's piano solos.
His music is colorful, soft, yet assertive.
It is gravitating and mesmerizing , just like watching the sunrise on a dewy spring morning.
In short "uniquely remarkable"...
Give me more Fredericko...give me more.

I listened to Freddie's CD and am looking forward to playing "The Beautiful and the Improbable" for my friends while entertaining this holiday season. I found it to be a lot of things from very soul-cleansing to creating the intimacy of watching a waterfall, to just listening to the music tell you it's story. I love his style. I'll definitely get his Christmas CD.

This album is an alluring compilation of piano solos that pulls the listener into the music. In "Three Scenes from a Wooded Place" the listener is taken down reminiscent lanes to a place that holds intimate meaning yet seems so far removed. Of the three, my favorite piece is "Of Ice and Wind". It is very distinctive compared to today's music style and through Frederick's musical translation--using a slow yet zealous climax--he really encapsulates the tumultuous acts of Mother Nature. I also really enjoy "Song in F#" (track 10). The mood is a lot different from that of "Of Ice and Wind". This track offers elegance, sincerity and the "beautiful" that the CD title alludes to. All in all, this CD offers something new to music fans who are tired of the new-age pianistic styles and cliches.

The breathtaking “Meditation on a Summer” warms the soul. His variation to the original Christmas melody “Silent Night,” which, coincidentally sounds amazing with the flute, calms the spirit. His simple, tasteful rendition of my favorite, “River,” portrays the melody in the lower voice, while the pedal points, lying in the upper voices, glistens like a river when the sun shines. These pieces are evidence that Fred brings the nature of his heart and soul into his music. Frederick Isaac brings a refreshing depiction to his arranged pieces, while bringing a tantalizing, and thought provoking view to his original compositions.
